57th BP Fellowship Event - Thailand

The Thailand Chapter of the Baden-Powell Fellowship hosted the 57th World Baden-Powell Fellowship Event on 17-18 February 2009 in Pattaya and Bangkok.

The King of Sweden, Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation, recognized 44 new members of the Fellowship including seven new youth members. Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva addressed the gala dinner and participated in the ceremonies.

In every country he visits, His Majesty enjoys meeting with Scouts and often joining in activities.  In Pattaya the Baden-Powell Fellows visited a school for the blind to see how Scouting is an important part of the students’ education.  His Majesty gladly accepted the invitation to invest 20 new Scouts into the school’s troop.

During the two days of activities, the Hong Kong/Macau Chapter of the Baden-Powell World Fellowship was formally recognized.
