The 64th BP Fellowship Event

Presentation of Alfredo Vollmer to the Honorary Chairman as a new BP Fellow

A personal experience by Alfredo Vollmer (Venezuela) - Baden-Powell Fellow

My personal experience at the 64th BP Fellowship Event was to say the least: "OUTSTANDING"!

My expectations of the event were very, very high and those expectations were all fulfilled. Meeting with Their Majesties The King and Queen of Sweden was a remarkable moment that I will never forget.

All of you have made us more than welcome and treated my wife and I as you knew us all of our lives. Belonging to an organisation such as ours makes me feel that we are making an impacting on the lives of kids and adults in many positive ways and I cannot imagine how many lives we influence indirectly all around the world.

I always thought of my self as fairly broad and open-minded person but how wrong I was! During and after the different activities during the 64th BP Fellowship Event "my brain and heart" opened permanently. I met so many nice people, made so many excellent international contacts and friends, which I would have never met if I did not go to that meeting and much less if I did not belong to the BP Fellowship. In a humorous way "I blame all of you responsible for such a great experience"!

I do not have enough words of gratitude and thanks for everything that all of you have done and the tremendous positive impact you have created on me. I will not be able to attend every BP Fellowship Event, however I would like to attend to at least one every 12 to 18 months. From now on please keep me posted because my participation at the event in Turku was the first of many to come.

By the way my BP Fellowship certificate is being framed so I can hang it on the wall at my office, and the pin is well kept in a secure place but handy place so I can use it often.

I also decided to join the European Scout Foundation for the first 3 years and my idea is that every year I will renew it until eventually I become a life member. On the way back my visits to Gothenburg and Stockholm were a total success. However, I did not have enough time to see everything which means that I shall return to Sweden some time in the near future, because 3 days in each city is not enough!

With my high and best regards to all of you and your families.
