Chile Scouts support wildfires relief and recovery

Chile Scouts have mobilised in the Valparaíso region to support their local communities, following the deadliest wildfires in the country's history. More than 161 fires had been reported since the beginning of February, resulting in widespread destruction and  loss of life. Thousands of acres of land have been consumed by flames, destroying everything in their reach, displacing survivors and leaving communities in ruins.

The Asociación de Guías y Scouts de Chile (Scouts and Guides of Chile) immediately rallied, calling upon Scouts nationwide to stand together in solidarity and compassion and serve their fellow citizens. Hundreds of volunteers are helping to provide immediate relief and support to those affected while also working to mitigate further damage to the environment and laying the groundwork for long-term recovery and resilience.

Help boost the Scout actions: Donate to our emergency appeal today!

The Scouts are commited to supporting young people and their families in the Valparaíso region, ensuring their health, safety and well-being in the aftermath of the disaster. They are actively providing shelter, medical assistance, essential hygiene and food kits and other basic supplies and necessities to those affected and displaced. Scout volunteers are also collecting and distributing vital educational materials to children and young people impacted by the wildfires to support their continued education and learning.

An emergency appeal is live on the Scout Donation Platform to raise funds to support the ongoing relief and recovery efforts led by Scouts in Chile.

Let's help to boost their efforts. Please donate today and share our appeal widely. Every single donation is valued and will help to make a difference in the lives of the affected families, including many fellow Scouts.
