Double your impact: Scout Donation Platform anniversary!
Over the past year, and thanks to your generous support, the updated Scout Donation Platform launched in May 2023, has empowered Scouts from 18 countries to lead over 50 projects by crowdfunding USD 143,000 to support impactful Scout actions.
The unwavering support of new and long-standing BP Fellows, other supporters and many Scout groups from across the world via the platform has enabled Scouts to positively impact over 20,000 direct beneficiaries via projects to support communities struck by earthquakes, promote environmental education, foster peace and community engagement, support young people’s mental health, and so much more!
We’re celebrating the one-year anniversary of the updated Scout Donation Platform with a dollar-for-dollar matching campaign for the Uganda Scouts for Clean Water project!
Ugandan Scouts leaders John and Gidds and their Scouts have combined forces to give 6,200+ inhabitants in four villages access to clean, safe water, through the construction of borehole water and protected spring wells.
Thanks to the generosity of one of our BP Fellows, all donations to this project up to the value of USD 7500 will be matched, with the aim of raising a total of USD 15,000. Simply enter the amount you wish to donate via the Scout Donation Platform, and we’ll ensure the matching is added on a daily basis.
“Access to clean and safe water is vitally needed in Africa and many other places. Scouts who build water projects are not only providing this essential, but they are also fighting poverty, improving health, and enabling children to get a better education. As a Baden-Powell Fellow, I am committed to helping Scouts everywhere make our world a better place, and that is why I support these clean water projects”, says our generous BP Fellow who will match the donations.
Through this impactful water project, the Scouts are also vitally supporting:
- Education: reducing the time children walk to fetch clean water each day means they’ll spend more time in the classrooms, tackling illiteracy to break the cycle of poverty.
- Health: access to clean water will reduce waterborne diseases, which cause diarrhoea, the second leading cause of death in children under five and help combat malnutrition and stunting.
- Women & girls, who are disproportionately impacted by the water crisis and spend at least twice as much time collecting water, massively impacting their education and safety.
- Food security & poverty reduction: better access to water will benefit agricultural production to improve nutrition and increase the income of beneficiaries.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines and the Philippine Youth Network for Interfaith Dialogue collaborated on an innovative that empowers youth leaders to combat plastic pollution by fostering interfaith collaboration and providing environmental education.
