90 YEARS LIVING THE DREAM AT KISC!

As many of you have been or at least heard of Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) - with some of you even being a member of the KISC Association - we like to share with you the following information regarding this truly international Scout Centre founded by BP. Not many places have gained a more prominent name over nine decades in the worldwide Scouting movement as KISC.

In one of the Swiss Bernese Oberland’s beautiful valleys, every year more than 10,000 Scouts from all continents experience BP’s dream of a Permanent Mini Jamboree, fostering international friendship and mutual understanding, peace and tolerance across borders. Our adventurous, exciting and educational activities teach our young visitors an understanding of the environment, giving them the opportunity to learn about other cultures, and contribute to their personal development.

2013 is a Jubilee year. On 21st May 1923, the doors of the Centre opened for the first time to welcome Scouts from all over the world. We are celebrating the KISC Jubilee with several activities through the year to which you are cordially invited. 

Two activities are highlighted for you:

  • Jubilee Weekend: 24. – 26. May: A weekend full of Jubilee Program activities, official celebration and (renewed) acquaintance with KISC. Meet old friends and make new ones. Mark the day, come along to join in. A special package for this weekend is available for CHF 90.00, which includes board and lodging for the weekend.
  • Scouting Sunrise: August 1st: Coinciding with Switzerland’s National Day, KISC guests, staff and many more will witness sunrise and together renew their Scout Promise at Lake Oeschinensee on this very special occasion, building on the success of KISC’s participation in Scouting Sunrise in 2007 on the occasion of the Centenary year.  Ready to commit?  Join us.
