The Key to Success

A week ago the Foundation team set out to Kuala Lumpur to collaborate with the people who help to support world Scouting –World Scout Bureau. What an inspiring week it’s been! There are so many ways to describe the engaging atmosphere of the Bureau team and their plans, but here’s three – Ambitious, Inspirational and Pioneering.

Ambitious – 100 million Scouts around the world by 2023 and another billion hours of service to others, if that’s not aiming to be the best who knows what is!

Inspirational – Every member of staff has a life changing story to tell about what they’ve seen happening around the world, from the Messenger of Peace ‘Books for All’ initiative in Indonesia to a leadership programme that has recently been launched in Ethiopia. Absolutely inspirational!

Pioneering – The Bureau team demonstrated the different tools and skills they are using that allow Scouts to lead the way through education, inter-religious dialogue and youth empowerment.  

It was fantastic to hear about all the stories and the level of impact Scouting is having on young people the world over and it was fantastic to see the team thriving in their new Malaysian home!
