New Regal Circle Members
We are pleased to inform you that during the 2nd Honours Programme Event in Mexico (24-27 April 2013) the Regal Circle of the World Scout Foundation's Honours Programme expanded with 2 new members and now stands on a total of 25 members!
Mr Miguel Aleman Velasco joined the Honorary Chairman on Thursday 25th April 2013 for a private meeting to discuss "Youth Education and Leadership Development through Scouting". The meeting went very well, especially when it became clear that Mr Aleman had been a Scout in his younger years! Following the meeting Mr Aleman and his wife Mrs Christiane Magnani de Aleman joined the Fellowship Dinner on Friday evening where they took the spontaneous decision to join the Regal Circle of the Honours Programme.
Mr Miguel Aleman Velasco is a lawyer by education and has held several high offices in Mexico such as elected Senator of the State of Vera Cruz since 1991 and Governor of the State of Vera Cruz (1998-2004). The Miguel Aleman Foundation is a leading Foundation in Mexico in the field of economic, political, social and cultural development. Mr Aleman is the son of Mr Miguel Aleman Valdez who was President of Mexico from 1946 to 1952.
Chairman Suk-Won Kim - long standing member of the Board of the World Scout Foundation and one of its Past Chairmen - from Korea, informed the Honorary Chairman of his decision to further upgrade in the WSF's Honours Programme and to join the Regal Circle. Chairman Kim currently serves as President of the Korea Scout Foundation. He has a passion for Scouting and the Scouting values have been integral to his achievements in life. Chairman Kim will be recognised later this year.
