Foundation News

We love Scouting. We all believe that Scouting transforms lives, drives positive change, and is a power for good. We all want more young people to be empowered through Scouting to positively impact their local communities, worldwide. None of this can happen without your support. 

We have launched an Annual Appeal, running from mid-October to the end of January 2023, to raise at least another USD 3 million for World Scouting, contributing towards our Strategy 2022–2030 to strengthen the impact of Scouting around the world. 

We invite you to join our Annual Appeal so we can educate and develop over 100 million young people worldwide. We will achieve this through concrete projects in seven priority areas defined together with the World Organization of the Scout Movement to strengthen and grow this vital force for good.

About our Strategy 2022–2030 

Our people — our BP Fellows, partners and donors at all levels — are at the heart of everything we do, driving the Foundation’s goals by generously giving to the cause of World Scouting, and helping us to continue growing our network. 

Together, we are working towards an ambitious Strategy (2022–2030) to strengthen the impact of Scouting around the world. With your continued support, we aim to raise an additional USD 100 Million and further engage and enlarge our network of incredible supporters. We will boost the resources that we provide to World Scouting, to contribute to the education and development of over 100 million young, active citizens who will drive positive change in their communities worldwide. 

The building blocks are in place and thanks to your help, we have already begun to implement our Strategy. Under the leadership of our Board, we have revitalised and strengthened our teams, volunteer committees and staff. We are embracing a new way of working, using new tools and technology available to us to streamline our processes and develop a clear plan for engaging our BP Fellows and supporters more comprehensively in our fundraising so we can strengthen the impact of Scouting worldwide.  

We have also worked hard to set clear goals, develop key messaging and identify opportunities to reach new and existing donors to support the seven key priorities to further develop and grow the World Organization of the Scout Movement. 

And thanks to you, we are already seeing results. So far in 2022, we have raised USD 4.1 Million in income and welcomed 50 new BP Fellows into our growing network in support of Scouting.

Help us to expand the BP Fellowship   

The Baden Powell Fellowship provides a lifetime association with the Scout Movement and with businesses, governments and Scouting leaders who share the same ideals. Joining and participating offers the greatest reward in being involved in the development of young people around the world. 

  • If you are not already a BP Fellow, please join us!  

  • Existing BP Fellows are encouraged to “friend-raise” to expand our network, introducing friends and associates to join, or offering a gift of a BP Fellowship to a family member or friend. All gifts will count to your ongoing Fellowship and, as an incentive for friend-raising, 50% of the total of donations given by friends you introduce as BP Fellows or Young BP Fellows will be added to your ongoing Fellowship total.  

Join or advance through the Honours Programme 

The Honours Programme recognises those who have contributed a higher level of financial support to World Scouting. All gifts to the Foundation are counted towards achieving the six Circles of the Honours Programme.
