Yemeni Scouts contribute to COVID-19 response
The Scouts and Guides of Yemen continue to be active serving their local communities despite the ongoing civil war and COVID-19 pandemic. Most recently, they have facilitated the delivery of essential supplies and food to displaced people sheltered in 80 centres and have also helped educate them on precautionary measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The Scouts worked in cooperation with the Cleanliness Fund in the Al Mohara Governorate. In addition, they have sterilised government buildings and the Central Bank.
Then, working with civil society organisations, the Scouts and Guides have also undertaken household visits to increase the citizens’ awareness of necessary preventative measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing to the wider awareness campaign organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population.
